Cover Illustrations
I created seven pieces of art that were featured on the front and back covers of the Into Reading student and teacher editions.
The concept of concentric circles that give the illusion of cutting "into" the book to represent the "Into" series was established before I began my work on the covers. My contribution was to create art that represented what each volume was about in a way that would capture the reader’s interest. I produced the vector art, then paper textures and shadows were added to produce a paper-cut look. With extremely tight deadlines, the biggest challenge was to produce the art from start to finish within a day or two. Despite these time constraints, I am pleased to have produced this art without sacrificing quality and feel proud to see my work featured on these *award-winning covers.
