Collections
Collections is a Literature program for middle school through high school students. I worked on G6–8 consumable student book.
For this book, in leu of having a traditional selection openers, we explored the layout that depicted a "belly-band" that introduced a visual representation of what the content of the literature will be. The realest was limited to the horizontal sliver, so we had to be concise with our image selection and still be engaging and convey the mood of the literature to draw the students into reading.
I'm including one full selection, followed by sample belly-band design concepts for other selections.
